r/place is only available on our mobile apps (iOS and Android) and new Reddit. The new r/place features we are introducing this year are only on our mobile apps and moderators can opt out of these if they want to.
This seems kind of desperate.
Especially considering, as far as I can tell there seems to not be any new features.
In fact, they’re limiting colour options now and the canvas is smaller.

You only need black and white in a small space to spell out “fuck spez”.
not sure if it did this last year but when i opened the canvas it started causing firefox to eat up a ton of ram, this is how it was after leaving the canvas open for 15 minutes
What else would you expect from the company that has its app’s video player load every single available resolution simultaneously?
Hahaha what?! Fuckin oath. That sounds like such a noob design….
Yeah, fuck NextCloud!
Oh you meant Reddit lol
Last year the canvas got bigger and there were more color options over time.
Mods can now designate a spot.
App analytics go brrrr
“protesters”… I’m sure Spez is sadly walking to the bank to cash all of his checks from all the money he made on r/place from the “protesters.”
It’s fucking pathetic that people still won’t let it go. Congrats on bringing traffic to the thing you hate so much.
this image is also from your linkSurprised Pikachu!
Grotesque? Maybe I missed seeing something else, but “Fuck Spez,” isnt grotesque.
Nor can you really call using the canvas as intended “graffiti.”
the following image is from your link and I believe not from this year.
Aye they show that, and also the current one both in the article.
oups, I know, so made one more comment
( the Right image in other comment )
That was the first place IIRC. I am fairly sure we in the nordic countries made the viking ship on top of the Union Jack in the first place.
They are still getting publicity and engagement so it’s working for them.
