I’ve had Google Home devices for years and years at this point. And yes, they definitely aren’t what they were. That started long before Bard, GPT etc. came on the scene. So when I see things like this now, it just makes me wonder if my current Home speakers are going to support whatever comes next, or if the whole ecosystem is just going in the bin. But what can replace them? Echo seems just as unlikely to get better support.

TL;DR: Google Assistant is being slowly mothballed and resources are instead turned to Bard which eventually will become the “New Assistant”.
