I’ve been wanting to rewatch TNG and DS9, but I don’t have access to Paramount+ and haven’t gotten around to finding an alternative source yet

Hello friend, allow me to introduce you to this project that has performed AI remasters for DS9 and is currently working on Voyager (halfway thru s1 I think)

      https://ds9redefined.wordpress.com/

check out the screenshots they provide (shown with a slider so you can easily compare source with remake):

Join their discord, and go to the #instructions channel, there is an ftp server for all completed episodes; you don’t need to run the workflows on the source eps yourself

Enjoy old trek in a more clear and vibrant experience :)

Whoa what. How reliable is that? Do they check every frame before/after. First time I’ve ever heard of AI remastering… As Spock would say, “fascinating.”

They are quite diligent in my experience, they’ve gone back and redone episodes on whims or by requests from people on the discord

I actually first started with the UTR/Joybell AI remaster which was better than the source files I had but was quite rough around the edges, especially the first season or two. Bright areas would blow out and show jagged lines, bleh

But this remaster is SO much better. Here is their workflow they keep updated so you can see what they do

There are comparison videos they have done as well, adding details like clearing up monitors and displays, etc
