I know we are still early in the 9th gen console era, but this seems to be the trend.

Take a game that the gamers loved from the 6th and 7th gen console era, and heavily rework the graphics and the games mechanics.

A good deal of time has passed since gamers last played those games. So, they are combining a healthy dose of nostalgia, modern graphics and game mechanics into a potent blend to make the gamers pay up for what is essentially an old IP, just reheated.

From the dev / publishers perspective, is a very low risk and decently high reward undertaking. A no brainer essentially.

I’m okay with it, except the FF7 remake. That’s a trash retelling of the original, and they lied about it being a retelling, instead feeding us all the line that it was a faithful remake when it’s not.

Pissed you have to buy multiple installments to get the full story too… really just milking it. Idk if I’ll bother finishing it tbh.

I’m for sure not buying the second one until I read some reviews and see what the story ends up being like. If they change it as much as people are speculating I won’t buy it at all. And wholeheartedly agree on the splitting up of the game being a money grab.
