Bad actors exist, will always exist. Acting as if they don’t is at best naive, and willful ignorance at worst.
Perhaps her efforts will get the average person to take more responsibility for their own security (since the most basic actions would prevent this).
I’ve given up trying to help people who don’t want to be helped. I have friends who work with IT security who “can’t be bothered” to take proper precautions with personal tech because “it’s inconvenient”.
At least this woman is taking some action. Kudos to her.
Use proper hard drive encryption friends, so that you may be spared from having to make a documentary about your own blackmailing.
