The Israeli army has told Khan Younis residents to evacuate to a “humanitarian zone” in al-Mawasi about half the size of Heathrow Airport

“Evacuate to a humanitarian zone” sounds like a fancier way of saying “Trail of Tears”.

After the people are moved, expect ethnic cleansing. If they don’t kill them all (and god knows they will try), Israel will remove their cultural identity and history.

That’s what’s been on my mind about this for months.

If Canadian, US and European governments can say to Indigenous people: “We messed up, we got it wrong from colonialism and we learned from this”, how are our nations turning a blind eye to the same sort of thing happening elsewhere in the world?

Can someone redo the image but outline what actually constitutes Heathrow rather than Heathrow-plus-surrounding-area. It makes it a much harder read, especially since the red is pretty cleanly laid over a rectangular area of the airport that makes it look like it’s the whole airport.

My first thought was “Half? They’re even labeled to the same size?” And took a second to realize that more than just that are is Heathrow.
