  • That is the cool thing you can retire at 55 and then do more of what you want maybe take a part time role or just find a new job or hobby. Then with the excess income you are so secure you can just fly to Paris if you want or go spend time with your kids for a month without worrying about bills or having the pressure of work.

  • The thing that is annoying is there is NO nuance to this. First primary isn’t over. So I can vote something to pull Biden more left. Second I live in a state with no chance of Biden losing. Remember this isn’t a one person one vote thing this is who wins the popular vote in each state for president gets all that states votes unless you are in Nebraska or Maine. So if I live in Delaware then voting 3rd party won’t hurt Biden he will win but maybe a movement will realize he doesn’t have as much support so maybe he will court progressive independents versus Republicans.

It won’t hurt. That being said do vote blue down ballot and primary all the people who are fake Democrats or shitty ones. Maybe if you find a hole and find you have massive support get a green party in but you would know if that race is close if you are local.

These posts are annoying to tell people to fall in line and I agree the other posts of I hate Biden is trying to divide the line in closer races.

  • In the real world your bubble is super small and it tends to be pleasant that is because you intake a lot less information and data about what is going on.

The internet and global community has TONS of information that someone focused on their life won’t exactly notice. There is ways even on the internet to surround yourself with just positivity and fun. But the fact of the matter making people feel negative gets more clicks and drives more money.

Take a break enjoy your life. Check in on the internet occasionally.

  • Your comments are very concerning and aggressive to strangers on the internet. Then you overshare and very defensive.

Not sure if you are working on it but the internet may not be for you if you have to trauma dump on everyone.

You sound super passive aggressive about a kid not wanting an ancient console with terrible games. Then you expect them to be happy with a gift he didn’t want.

The stuff about your mom and being in the military makes it seem like you need to go to a therapist even more. Especially if your son’s dad messed with you and you are going through a harassment campaign online which would be weird if they found you on lemmy

Your problems shouldn’t be dumped on your son. This is coming from a son of a single mom who constantly trauma dumped on by his mother.

  • Boredom is good for someone. The brain hates it so it forces itself to be creative or do something. You have more energy if so much of it wasn’t dedicated to trying to work and suckle off of capitalism teat so you can survive. That is the thing when so much energy is focused on work you miss community/hobby work that is a healthier thing to build for one’s self for one’s overall happiness. If it costs less to live the more you can spend on hobbies which allows more hobbies to be livable jobs in your community

  • Household net worth by age Age of head of family Median net worth Average net worth Less than 35 $39,000 $183,500 35-44 $135,600 $549,600 45-54 $247,200 $975,800 55-64 $364,500 $1,566,900 65-74 $409,900 $1,794,600 75+ $335,600 $1,624,100

So not really the average or most. There is a huge chunk at the top bringing it up average is way different then median. Most people won’t have enough wealth to be a millionaire. Most people in the USA will be lucky to earn 1-3 million in their lifetime but most of that gets spent on living as you can see by the table people are lucky if they own their home and have a bit leftover.
