Not sure why but they remind me of flowers lmao
Backup your stuff
Not sure why but they remind me of flowers lmao
A hell of a deal
Yeah I can totally see that. I’m mostly just worried about a certain area being shinier and lighter in color compared to the rest of the griddle on the cooking surface. Must of been to repair a crack. I’m going to see if anything melts at around 622°f to determine if the material they used to fill is lead hopefully I don’t warp it or anything.
Huh actually didn’t think about scratching it. That sounds like it’ll work. I’ll still do the heat test to confirm but your method couldn’t hurt to try. Thank you so much for the information I’m still new to the cast iron life so the shiny spot threw me off, haha
Edit: just did the test and I guess it passed it? I added significant force and couldn’t make an indentation or a scratch on the area.
Yeah I just thought about that this seems really promising. Appreciate the ideas.
Yup but I’m gonna hold off taking a blow torch to it for now at least to not ruin it lmao
Edit: yknow what you might be onto something ignore my earlier joke. If I stick it on the stove top and heat it up it should hypnotically melt out, right? I got a laser thermometer too so I can keep track of the temp roughly
Lmao this one is genius
Thought so too I can also swear they had some trouble with Google and pixel launcher something about their code. Great to see them still trucking
Hehe I see what you did there. Reminds me of my uncle fergus. He was a rather interesting fella some might even say strange. Back in the year, oh I don’t know, 1987. I know it was 1987 since I remember it being a rather cold summer that year and my glasses broke as well. Had to take it to get repaired in a small shop, this was wayyy before you could do it in malls and whatnot. Anywho, old uncle Fergus sure would ramble on and on till the cows came home, that was one of his favorite sayings. What does that even mean “when the cows come home?” Maybe it has to do something with ranch life but not sure.
Thought the punchline was gonna be that he walked into a bar lmao
That headline reads like a tongue twister
“Haha April fools”
Agree with everything except about the dgpu. Personally ran into problems due to kernel compatibility with the proprietary drivers that are no longer being maintained with older models like the NVIDIA NVS 5400M on a thinkpad t430 and had to switch to nouveau. Its fine for what I use it for but does have screen tearing on external monitors so a beginner might get frustrated and since the display I/O is often using the dgpu you can’t use integrated graphics. So yeah not everything will be seamless for OP if they do have a dgpu
Honestly I’m not really worried it was used for melting lead since its really shallow and clearly had burnt on grease but 10$ for tests will give me peace of mind.
None that I can think since 3m discontinued theirs. Just gonna check on what has good reviews for a decent price online. It’ll probably be one of those swabbing ones that turn red
Found a cast iron griddle for 4$ at goodwill. I’m stripping it with easyoff and gonna order some lead tests on Monday. No branding whatsoever sadly but very decent shape so not complaining
Hello there
Top of my head: like a Linksys MR7340 hydra should have enough ram and storage for openwrt for a few years iirc but only 3 Ethernet port so a switch might be needed. Think its 50 USD rn but I’ll have to double check that. Another option would be like a used Linksys AC2200
Actually was doing some research on this the other day for a friend and here’s what I found.
Used:
ASUS ZenScreen (MB16ACE) 15.6” - buy used for around 140$ USD on amazon maybe cheaper on eBay
ViewSonic VG1655 15.6 Inch - buy used for around 120-130 USD on amazon maybe cheaper on ebay
New:
Damn this one is tough my best guess LJ is like how the manufacturer tracks it internally or something like that and the 349 could be like eat before the 349th day of that year. Again this is just a guess probably contact the manufacturer to be 100% clear what that means.
