Just a guy doing stuff.

it could store the recordings and bundle them with an innocent request, encrypted even. unless you have physically looked inside the device and checked that it is incapable of doing this, you are simply trusting a company’s word.
Plenty of people have done just that; And discovered that no, Echo devices do not do that. Also audio recordings are big, so the folks who have done proper network analysis would probably have noticed such a thing.
Echo devices have two computers in them: One that only listens for the wake word and activates the second computer. A second computer that does the actual relay and processing for the voice commands.
Claiming they’re always recording is just unnecessary fearmongering
That’s only true for the Java edition, some people play the Bedrock edition instead tho - and even then, that can still be run on Linux lol
Running games through Proton is as simple as clicking install and then play on Steam. You might need to enable Steam Play or such but I haven’t had setup or config troubles with games in years now
Don’t you know that GUIs are super double duper against the unix philosophies of old? Mr Linux Torbald rolling in his grave just thinking of it
For the first one, try Lutris
Word of warning, loads of those are full of hidden malware that will attempt to infect the other devices on your network. Probably best to make your own every time.
Yeah the hardest part is going around and updating your address with sites you use.
Every time I’ve done it, I’ve also put an auto forward on my old address, and a label or other alert for anything that comes through from the old so I can go update it or block that address from auto forwarding.
I think the person was saying it’s a good idea to have your own domain because with a gmail.com address, you’re stuck with Gmail. With your own, you can change providers any time by setting up your addresses at the new provider and updating the mail records to point to them. Boom! New email provider, same addresses.
I dunno what you were using but I recommend virt-viewer.
The main thing for this one is that you’ll want to get a PCIe USB controller card and pass that through directly to the VM so that unplugs/replugs/device resets don’t connect the device to the host machine briefly while if determines if it should pass through.
In i3wm you can set a key bind to float a window above the tiling and it’ll do just that; You can even automate it with some custom for_window
rules if desired.
My autistic ass has always thought of it as “I’m going to the (specific) bathroom (that I will be using)”
I think their point was that some head boards don’t go to the floor
I’m already autistic, what’s it gonna do, give me a software update?
I like to give my percentages in like 93% prime numbers. It confuses people about 87% of the time.
This guy’s with The Enlightened, rattle him boys!
Just here in the comments as a top level comment, as an explanation of the image
Your mom’s lol
I printed and assembled one myself for about $90 for all parts, so I can somewhat understand some of the the prices… But whew that’s expensive
For the first one, you should look into some z wave light switches; I have my house wired with them and then I setup triggers for things like “double tap this switch up to turn on the whole room” and “double tap this switch down to start a bedtime routine”
