$80,000 seems more than reasonable to fix a roof and floor imo.

I suspect it’s also full of foreign agents acting on bad motives. That and children for whom this is their first election, who are caught up on ideals instead of slow and steady progress.

Let’s not bash progress in pursuit of perfection. These policies are directly impacting me in the positive, which is more than we could say for the previous president.

My city somewhat does this. You get a significant tax break on your primary residence, so if you rent out your house you pay more.

Everyone here is dramatically overcomplicating the solution. Simply:

1. Turn on the PC without an Internet connection
2. From an elevated cmd, run net stop wuauserv
3. Connect the network and copy your files

This stops the update service and will absolutely prevent windows updates from running. BUT it reverts at the next boot, so be careful.

I live in an apartment and just charge it once a week for 30 min while I do my grocery shopping. Ezpz. I’ve been doing this for 3 years and have never had a problem.

I used to use “guys and gals” in a work setting, but then I hired an employee who identified as non binary (hope I’m using the right word here) and I didnt want them to feel excluded. I started using “all” or “yinz” instead and it stuck. At this point I just don’t assume pronouns unless someone tells me what theirs are.

Bear in mind that’s individual income. If you’re looking at family income it’s around 130k (per the latest census data).

My household makes more than that and the grocery prices are still hitting us hard. Went from spending ~$150/month to spending almost that much per week. We’re not eating steaks or anything and we cook from scratch. It’s wild.

I was thinking more like people who live at home with their parents, and their parents buy the food. The top 20% of earners start at $80,000/year and those folks are certainly seeing the impact.

Hottest heatwave in my area since 1985 and our power went out for 24 hours. Still waiting to hear if there has been any deaths from the heat.

I work in IT. My favorite part is focusing on a difficult problem that no one else can solve, and fixing it. My nickname at work is “the tank” because they can point me at any issue and I’ll fix it. I’ll also toss in the paycheck. I had a recruiter tell me 2 years ago that my skill set isn’t even worth $65k and now I’m making more than double that.

My least favorite part is the occasional late nights. Worked a 20 hour shift the other day for a particularly difficult major issue. This happens maybe twice a year. I’m at an age where it takes a toll.
