No, but I’ve argued with enough people IRL to know that my opinion isn’t exactly common. Most people who agree with me are my fellow transhumanists.

Oh, so that’s why I can flip them all simultaneously.
At first I thought this was an aquarium and lifting the bar would drain it. I was trying to figure out how they could be so stupid as to leave something like that open to the public. The lesson is to get up and out of bed before you start doomscrolling.
The image suggests that a closest element of each cluster exists, but a furthest element does not, so I will pull the closest lever in each cluster.
Did you know that when a cell is copying its DNA the enzyme that unzips that DNA doesn’t just start in one place, but rather unzip multiple parts of the same strand at the same time? If that weren’t the case, unzipping the DNA would take too long, and the cell would die before it could be done.
Pretending that doing one thing is stopping us from doing other things is an incredibly idiotic way of thinking about the way progress is made.
All of this anti-space doomerism is really pissing me off.
If everyone were immortal, and no one needed to worry about resources, that would be awesome and pretending otherwise is the biggest cope.
Reality is that which continues to exist when you stop believing in it.
Idk, if someone’s trying to do a mass shooting, a little intervention could do some good.
And now they never will.
Yes; I misunderstood what the author meant. Ty for letting me know.
There is no fact about reality that can ever threaten facts about mathematics. Mathematic definitions exist independent of reality.
I’d argue that a prion is folded badly.
God is not good. God is in fact very bad, if we assume they exist.
Iirc trees aren’t a cladistic group; “tree” is a word that describes a phenotype. Bananas absolutely grow on trees because “a tree-like herb” is a tree.
Edit: adding salt to water does change the boiling point. The amount is simply not enough to be significant most of the time. Similarly, the coriolis effect does affect the movement of water in toilets, just not enough to be noticeable.
Edit2: multi-personality disorder isn’t a thing. Disassociative Identity Disorder (DID) is what’s being referenced.
Does the author think LLMs are Artificial General Intelligence? Because they’re definitely not.
AGI is, at minimum capable of taking input and giving output from any domain that a human can, which no generative neural network is currently capable of. For one thing, generative networks are incapable of reciting facts reliably, which immediately disqualifies them.
This is the way.
Hard disagree. As far as I’m aware, everything they’ve done so far is attention-grabbing and harmless. All the paintings were behind glass, and the stuff here is water soluble.
I would like to kindly ask everyone not to claim her as a trans icon.
