  • I’ve experienced exactly the same with my son. He was in hospital for about two weeks but is now absolutely fine.

Really scary and distressing time, I still get wobbly when thinking about it… but the doctors and nurses will look after him.

I hope you’re doing okay. At least as okay as you can be. Don’t forget to eat and sleep yourself.

  • I’m not superstitious at all but out of habit I do tend to (moderately) follow a bunch

Don’t put new shoes on the table Don’t open umbrellas inside Don’t walk under ladders Don’t walk over 3 drains Don’t pass people on the stairs Throwing salt over my shoulder if I spill some) Pointing out the good luck of being poop on by a bird Greeting/saluting a magpie

    ……

    Oh dear that’s a lot… maybe I am superstitious!

  • I do like all kinds of holidays. Relaxing with a book holidays, city breaks, friend boozy holidays, exhausting family holidays etc

My ideal holidays though is a nature/wildness focused holiday (but staying somewhere nice… I can enjoy camping but it isn’t “ideal holiday” material). USA National Parks, Canadian Rockies, The Nordics, Safari etc

  • Has there been hints of any new Becky Chambers book that you’ve heard of? The news section of otherscribbles.com doesn’t have anything since nearly a year ago.

When I was deep in the sleep deprived zone of new parenthood, listening & readying to Beckychambers books on audio book was just perfect. I was too fragile to deal with any horribly dark or dense sci-fi books (that so many seem to be) and her books always felt like a nice cup of tea (pretty appropriate considering psalm for the wild-built!)

We are expecting our second and I’d love to have a new Becky chambers book to read or listen to when we restart the new born saga!

  • Definitely this. Was thinking about making a bit myself to do this as the whole direct link thing is such a pain but I don’t have any experience in making bots so I’d be even happier if someone else manages to make one!

Something that automatically converts https://beehaw.org/c/support to [support](/c/support) so they are useable across instances.___

  • Already been posting and commenting more than I ever did in countless years on Reddit!

I think on Reddit there was so many voices I hardly felt it was worth posting or commenting. Someone else would have already posted my thoughts and done it much more eloquently than I would have.

Here every little act of engagement helps, so I’m just jumping right in to posting & commenting without second guessing myself.

  • The features I’d love to see:

    • Compact / Collapsed posts
    • List of your Subscribed Communties
    • Search for Communities
    • Multi-Communities (an equivalent to the Multireddits in Apollo)

I use (or used to use) the Multireddit feature in Apollo all the time. My big use case is that I can put “spoiler” communities there so they don’t pop up in my main feed but I can go there once I’ve seen the relevant episode! It’s also really good for grouping regional ones… like

UK, Chill UK, UK Casual etc

Edit: and being able to edit your own post!
