Been working on cleaning out my mom’s house. Called a guy for what i thought was a small repair. That turned into $10k (that i agreed to and am now scrambling to find) and led to a foundation repair estimate of $25k plus expected plumbing issues. I don’t really want to sell it but not sure i can afford to keep it. Sad, frustrated, still have a tremendous amount of stuff to donate/sell and much cleaning to do. Grateful that i have summer break to do it so there’s time to appreciate the memories. Also happy that my son is living there, covering the mortgage, and having a nice, safe home that he wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.

Maybe the universe thought you needed 45 minutes to just sit, chill, and look out at things you don’t normally see.

I like to watch those old shows because they are reminders that we really have made significant progress in my lifetime.

Growing up there most families i knew were Baptist or Church of Christ, with a few methodists thrown in. Used to joke that Oklahoma would stay dry as long as Baptists could stumble to the polls.

ETA- All of my friends went to Falls Creek camp. They invited me but i was never allowed to go because one friend told a story about hammering nails into a cross and crying. That’s where most people i knew had their first ‘romantic experiences’ - first kiss, etc.
