That sounds complicated and I am afraid something could break (again). The last days I tried to fix something in the db, which led to other problems.
Might it be a good idea to to just copy the post so it gets a higher ID, which wasn’t used before? Because the productive system is already running and has a lot of content and a new reinstall might even block more IDs.
Yes, that’s exactly what I described with the issue, that a lot of other features will be deactivated too, because there is only one button for everything.
But if you know it: How exactly do I deactivate the “All Feed” to not pollute my server and avoid distractions to the users, but let them comment on external posts, without having the complete post on my instance and let external people comment on posts on my instance?
Thanks for your help.
omg… why would you work for a company like this? Working with shitty technology all day could lead to depression.
Always those pathetic people overwhelmed by their own lives…
But I have this in Germany, too. There must be something different i n Norway.
It is technically illegal, because the app is uploading all data from the phone book of a smartphone (names, phone numbers, email addresses, birthday dates, post addresses, etc.), but Meta argued that the data isn’t saved directly, all get an unique identifier, which is necessary so the app can work. But collecting data from people (who don’t even use WhatsApp) and didn’t agree to it, is illegal in the EU and only replacing a unique number with another unique number doesn’t make a person anonymous. It’s still an identifier.
That’s why I wrote technically, because WhatsApp is still around and Meta might have found a loophole, otherwise a lot of countries couldn’t use WhatsApp and I think Meta had to invest a lot of money to create or find this loophole.
This sounds really esoteric for me… first I thought this is cool, but then it was like… meeehhhh…
Maybe meme creators are just hypocrites and grave for likes?
Imagine you would travel back to the 1990s and tell someone that in the 2020s people will pay about 200k for a link to a jpeg, but everyone can download the jpeg. They will not even understand why the future is so messed up, but they will ask if we have flying cars, yet?
That’s true and it’s worrying!
for the shopping list I have a similar hot key and after saving the list, it will be automatically send to my android (over local network, not over the internet, sharing it with dozens of companies) and I can open it with SimpleTask having it sorted by the shelves how they appear in the supermarket to not run like a psychopath back and forth.
Only if you’ve already lost the control of your life a long time ago… then it really doesn’t matter and you might not care about anything but wine about having no money.
ISO standards… unbelievable how many people don’t get it!
I am European, so that’s a spoiler: It’s Atlantica
That’s the first time I looked away while a safety presentation was going on.
In general I really like them and it’s honorable how much effort those people put in their presentation before every single flight.
I tried to copy some posts, but it looks like it is totally screwed up, now. Even higher ids show wrong content on some Mastodon instances, even if I am sure I only did a few tests with posts.
Only way to solve this (imho) is to reinstall Lemmy BUT use another subdomain.
What do you think? Will this work?
