I wonder if they can use passport photos for catching all the employers who commit wage theft, or catch the companies destroying the climate, or the companies not paying taxes, or the companies who flout regulations because they’re so rich that the fines are a business cost, or corrupt politicians…
They don’t care. Look at the P&O scandal. The fine was costed in before they made the decision to break employment law. Heck, the select committee that was responsible for holding those assholes to account even said this was a test for the government to respond to and they did absolutely nothing.
