  • OP, you may be in lawyer territory. Not to sue the insurance company, though it may come to that.

A lot of these companies will give riff raff (you and me) the run around.

But once an attorney enters the picture, they have to get their attorneys involved and typically corporate attorneys aren’t cheaper than one you hire. So the incentive to resolve the situation quickly is higher.

At least for a short time. So a short phone call from your attorney to them will often get the attention of the right people.

  • I’ve known good criminals and bad cops. Bad priests. Honorable thieves. You can be on one side of the law or the other. But if you make a deal with somebody, you keep your word.

Cyber criminals want to make more money like anyone else. So if they get a reputation of going back on their word, they aren’t going to get their next payday.

What paying the ransom does is empower their next data exfil and let other hackers know you’re willing to deal.

I’m not saying there aren’t bad actors out there.

    Fuck Ticketmaster.

  • Fun fact: many cities had issues with female fruiting trees because their fruits would rot on the ground, causing bad smells and rodents. So they replaced them with male trees.

Unfortunately for allergy sufferers, this increased pollen counts exponentially. But that’s not all. Because these trees can “sense” that they are competing with other male trees, they produce even more pollen than they normally would.

Edit: My information is outdated! It was based on an article that I read back in the early 2000s and it looks like it’s been debunked.
